Brooksby Hall Wedding Photographer: Sarah and David

Sarah & David’s summer wedding at The Beautiful Brooksby Hall, Melton Mowbray

I’ve got to tell you the story that lead to my photographing this stunning and hot June wedding at the lovely Brooksby Hall in the Melton Mowbray countryside.

In the winter of 2022 my wife and I went for a routine meeting at the bank and we were met on the other side of the desk by the lovely Sarah who was extremely helpful, by the way.

The conversation came around to what my wife and I did for a living and it was my better half actually who described me as a creative, documentary wedding photographer and Sarah quickly told us that she was looking for a wedding photographer!

Well, we left Sarah with my card and a little while later Sarah & David got in contact with me to arrange a meeting to get to know each other and for me to learn more about their wedding day and then they decided that I was the photographer for them. So, you never know when the next enquiry will come from!

Brooksby Hall Weddings

Here’s some information taken from the excellent Brooksby Hall website

“Brooksby Hall is a picturesque 16th Century Manor House set on an 850 acre estate in the heart of the beautiful Leicestershire countryside. There are so many gorgeous spots for the perfect wedding photos that will make the memory of your special day last forever. From under the arches by the lake to the privacy of the mosaic garden, you won’t be short of settings for your perfect wedding portraits.”

In short, I agree!

Bridal Preparations

Sarah got ready for her wedding day at the family home in nearby Grantham and I had a lovely morning photographing the laughter, fun and excitement and some gorgeous flowers too which matched the stylish and attractive blue colour scheme.

Sarah arrived at Brooksby and we hid round the back of the building, away from David and the groomsmen and we waited for Sarah’s Dad to arrive for that all-important first look.

The Brooksby Hall Wedding Ceremony

Sarah and David have two lovely sons and the elder of the two played a starring role in the ceremony, lying down in between his daddy’s legs, giving everyone a laugh and smile!

After the ceremony we had a great confetti moment - there was loads of it and it looked great. Then time for a handful of family and friends group photographs using the beautiful gardens as a backdrop. We also had some lovely family moments with Sarah, David and the boys with the good old swinging technique getting them in the mood for photographs!

Some excellent speeches followed once the newlyweds had been welcomed into the wedding breakfast room to rapturous applause!

After that it was the groom’s party’s turn for some relaxed photographs while they were having a laugh together. These fellas were obviously close friends and it was so much fun to capture their dynamic.

Wedding Portraits and The Bride and Groom at Brooksby Hall

One of the aspects of the wedding day that I absolutely love is when we get a few moments away, with just the bride and groom for some portraits. I really enjoy creating them and I know that it’s exciting for the couple when we’re creating them together and when the gallery is delivered and they’re seen for the first time.

There’s some lovely areas for photography at Brooksby hall, the rose garden and the nearby iron stone buildings, making for lovely backdrops and the summer flowers giving some lovely colour in the foreground of the photographs.

I stay later into the evening to capture more of the party when guests are at their most fun - in this case fun and entertaining with some friends of Sarah and David ‘getting their kit off’ (well, just the top and it was a couple of the fellas) and it was seriously entertaining and and made for some great photographic memories.

I’m delighted that we had that bank meeting Sarah and I’m even more pleased that I was chosen to photograph your wedding.
