Ritika and Sunny’s Wollaton Hall Wedding

A Stunning Nottinghamshire Wedding at The Wonderful Wollaton Hall with Ritika & Sunny!

Wowwwwwwww…They looked good! Didn’t they? Yes they did! I had an absolutely incredible time with the gorgeous Ritika & Sunny (again! - see the blog post for their Indian Wedding which took place the week previously - link at the bottom). I’ll be completely honest - I’ve been looking forward to sharing this one.

Bridal Preparations

Took place at the Belfry Hotel in Nottingham. There are lovely moments to capture: excited bridesmaids dashing into the room to see the bride for the first time, groom-to-bride gift giving and Dad’s first look as he looks on proudly, seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. Lovely moments.

The Wedding at Wollaton Hall

When I arrived at the hall, family and friends were gathering in the beautiful surroundings of the reception room and taking in the stunning art and architecture of the main hall where the ceremony would soon take place.

The bride and the bridal party arrive…

There were some really special moments, such as Dad walking the bride up the stunning stone stairs and I managed a lovely vantage point to capture the arrival through the beautiful pillars in the staircase which really framed the moment. The glorious April Sun was streaming into the hall, lighting the bride beautifully as she made here way into the hall and towards her waiting groom.

It was absolutely stunning light for the exit too - rapturous applause for the newly-married couple as they walked out, down the aisle.

We decided that it would be a great idea to take a photograph of everyone on the glorious steps at the rear of the hall before everyone took the short walk to Camelia House for the drinks reception.

After the drinks reception it was the perfect time to take the journey up to the famous and stunning gallery room. The Sun was streaming in on this bright Spring day which helped me to achieve some really striking portraits of this gorgeous couple. A walk on the iconic Nottinghamshire roof first, then up to the gallery…

Then, onto the meal and the speeches. So much laughter and emotion on display and for a photographer, well, it’s just perfect. I love capturing the speeches the guest’s reactions.

I love it when there’s a bit of space in the time for a few lovely bride and groom portraits in the low, golden Sun. Such a great time of day to get outside and create some really natural portraits. I really like this style mix - some a bit styled if you’re into it (why not?!) and some a bit more natural, e.g. having a walk and just enjoying being married. I must say, I do like creating a mixture of bride and groom portraits. You only get dressed like this once so why not make the most of it? Wollaton Hall is a wonderful venue for bride and groom portraits too.

But… when the lights go low… that’s when we can get really creative and make some photographs which you'd be happy to hang on the wall and show off in the album. I say… show off on your wedding day! Again…why not?

The Evening Celebrations

Having photographed Ritika & Sunny’s Indian wedding the week before and seeing how the wedding party partied, I knew it was gong to be good! Wollaton Hall made for an amazing centre-stage for the first dance and the confetti canons took it to another level!

As you can no doubt see, I had an incredible time photographing this wedding at Wollaton Hall. I can’t wait to go back! Thanks you for having me photograph your wedding Ritika and Sunny!
