A fun-filled wedding at Allington Manor

I joined Brian & Lucy for their Allington Manor Wedding

September weddings can have absolutely any weather, can’t they? This one was typical - a bit of rain, a bit of dry - pretty grey but to be honest, the sky may have been grey but the people and the wedding certainly were not!

Lucy and Brian asked me to join them when they found me on the Allington Manor recommended suppliers list - thanks Allington!

As ever, I’m always on the lookout for the fun of the arrivals; the hugs, the kisses, the smiles and laughter as the wedding anticipation builds! I managed loads of great photographs of these moments (always on the lookout!).

We were due to have an outdoor ceremony but the rain put paid to that, so the wonderful venue folks, made a quick, last-minute transition to the indoor ceremony room.

After the wonderful ceremony, we headed outside for the confetti moment and it was so good! I had so many great confetti moments to choose form; great expressions and you could feel the excitement! At weddings, people are (it sounds obvious, doesn’t it) absolutely the most important thing. The hugs, the kisses, the smile and the laughter. It’s the celebration of the day!

Just before the speeches, we took 5 minutes to capture some fun, relaxed bride and groom photographs. They had such a classic feel with the subdued sky; very classic and classy, in my opinion. Allington Manor is such a stunning backdrop isn’t it! I used my skills from my wildlife photography days to take a ‘panning’ photograph of the stunning car moving away from the manor as Brian and Lucy took a short trip in the stylish wedding car.

After the amazing wedding breakfast, the speeches commenced and nobody was disappointed! Laughter and candid-tales aplenty - a little embarrassment, of course, but nothing too scathing!

Soon after, the rain abated, allowing us to get outside for some fun garden games and then Brian and Lucy were up for a few more couples photographs. The staircase at the manor is absolutely stunning and it would be thoroughly rude not get some photographs of the newlyweds on it!

And then… one of my favourite parts of the day - the evening celebrations and the dancing! In the daytime, you don’t usually get shapes thrown like those on the dance floor and that’s why I like to stay later than most photographers, so that you’ve got great memories of the whole day. This is when the party really gets started.
