Vale of Belvoir Wedding Photography in The Belvoir Castle Grounds

Wedding Photography at Belvoir Castle Weddings in The Vale of Belvoir

Happy first anniversary to the lovely Richard and Lauren who celebrated their Vale of Belvoir Wedding in June 2024!

In the idyllic Vale of Belvoir village of Branston, we enjoyed a fun-filled ceremony (owing to the vicar’s obvious enjoyment at officiating weddings and the meaningful emotion during the vows. I love capturing those meaningful moments.

That’s what I’m about as a wedding photographer: capturing as many moments as I can throughout the day - the laughs, the tears, the hugs, the kisses, the emotion.

I’m getting ahead of myself slightly by jumping to the ceremony! My day started at Richard and Lauren’s farmhouse where I photographed some very relaxed bridal prep and I loved the traditional bride and bridesmaids tea cups. The dress looked beautiful hung in the snug, the flowers and shoes, lovely on the plush leather chair. I do enjoy photographing the details.

In terms of weather, this wedding day had it all from slight drizzle for the bride’s approach to the church, from monumentally torrential rain just after the service, bright sun, a stunning rainbow, warm sun and then more rain at night - you might say: a typical June in England! My advice for summer weddings in The East Midlands? Get the brollies in the boot of the car!

One of my favourite wedding photographs ever is amongst this little selection here - the joyful walk back up the aisle after the ceremony and signing the register. It just shows pure joy and excitement for the ensuing celebrations!

After the service at Branston Church, the newly-weds left for the reception at the grounds of Belvoir Castle in a stunning vintage E-Type Jaguar. There was only the problem of the monumentally-torrential rain to deal with for the pair because of a slightly leaky soft top roof, but that didn’t deter spirits and Lauren was already resigned to the fact that the bottom of her dress was completely wrecked with mud at this point anyway!

At Belvoir Castle, I positioned myself along the puddle-drenched road to cpature their arrival to the reception, taking cover under the tailgate of my VW van which was a perfect temporary brolly!

AS YOU CAN IMAGINE…! When I spotted the vivid rainbow arching across The Vale of Belvoir sky, I quickly grabbed Richard and Lauren (not literally - that would be inappropriate) and grabbed, as quickly as I could, some memorable bride and groom photographs while the rainbow lasted.

The Evening Reception at Belvoir Castle Weddings was amazing fun. I love it when the dance floor is full and bouncing and it was on this seriously memorable night.

Before the night was over, the rain arrived once more, accompanied by a setting sun so I got the brolly and the flash out gain and took a cool rain portrait of the happy couple.
