Danielle and Jim's Winter Swancar Farm Wedding

Danielle & Jim's Winter Swancar Farm Wedding

I absolutely love a winter wedding at Swancar Farm because there’s so much for a photographer to ‘play with’ with it being such a beautiful venue with plenty of space inside and outside.

Daniele & Jim invited me to be their wedding photographer and I was delighted because it was to be my first visit to Swancar and during our meeting, it was obvious that we’d be a great match!

The day began in the gorgeous converted stables where the bridal preparations took place before we moved upstairs to the bridal suite. One of my favourite moments was watching Danielle’s Dad come into the room for the big reveal. Beautiful emotions.

Before the ceremony, the excitement built as the guests waited for the Danielle’s arrival. As Danielle walked up the aisle towards her soon-to-be-husband, her joyous expression was crystal clear. You’ll notice a difference in tone between the photographs of Danielle walking in and that’s because when the bride got close enough, I could use a little pop of flash to produce really sharp, crystal clear, warm photographs. Using flash in these situations really does enhance the quality and tone of the images when the room is on the darker side and during the month of November, you really do need to know what you’re doing with additional lighting. Anyway, enough technical explanations - it’s the joy and emotions that really make these photographs, oh and the cutest ring bearer in wedding history, stealing the show!

There’s always time for some bride and groom portraits at Swncar Farm and the famous track makes for a lovely backdrop and this set had a lovely autumnal feel with this being a November wedding.

The speeches gave a wonderful opportunity to capture all the emotions - and during this wedding it was mainly hysterical laughter owing to the top-quality speeches, full of those embarrass the groom stories!

I love to stay a little later than many photographers and as a result, I get the opportunity to capture the moments when people’s hair is let down, a few drinks have flowed and the party really starts!

Using the lovely lights and darker conditions during winter weddings is perfect for a few creative portraits to give the bride and groom something a little bit different and stylish to hand on the wall and include in an album.

Thank you for reading and thank you for having me to photograph your Swancar wedding Danielle & Jim!
