Leicestershire Family portrait photographer

As well as wedding photography, I absolutely love photographing portraits.  Engagement, family and pets - all make for pure happiness.  When I’m shooting portraits, I am always looking for beauty, elegance and charm. If you’re a young family with children or a family with grown up adults, when getting together, it’s a lovely idea to capture a moment in time and what better a way than a relaxed and fun family portrait photoshoot?

Family Portrait Photography in Nottinghamshire

Often, couples who book me as their wedding photographer choose to celebrate their engagement with a dedicated engagement photoshoot. We have fun and I we make stunning photographs. One lovely way of using these engagement photographs is to use them in wedding invitations and display them on a big screen on the wedding day.

If you’re looking to record a moment in time - when all the family are together, then get in contact with me and here’s some details about the sessions:

What does an on location portrait session look like?

Usually lasting about an hour, I suggest a location that we should meet at for the photo session. Whether it’s just you individually, an engaged couple, a family (pets very very welcome), you just have to turn up and I take care of the rest. I’m not just saying this, but I am very good at putting you at ease. Many of the photographs that I take involve ‘walking and talking and having a laugh’ so there’s a lot of very normal, natural stuff going on and I’m just there to capture it.

When would we choose this session?

If you’re newly-engaged, perhaps planning your Leicestershire or Lincolnshire wedding, (perhaps even about to propose) or you just want some stunning photographs of the two of you or your family. Why not?

Here are some frequently-asked questions which will explain how things work…

Where do the family portrait sessions take place?

My family portrait sessions take place outdoors, so we’ll use a nice day. The great thing is that I’m happy to pencil in a date and if the weather is awful, then we can reschedule. I’m blessed with a lovely local area for the photographs - lovely countryside and woodland for portraits in a safe and pretty environment for all members of the family. I’ll also come to your area if you have a special place in mind.

How long does a portrait session take?

The photography on the day only takes around an hour which means that I can capture plenty of fun and enjoyment and the odd cool, relaxed individual portrait too.

What do I receive after the session?

After the session, I bring the photographs back to the office and choose the very best ones to feature in your gallery. The ones where the sun’s in someone’s eyes or a child in mid-sneeze etc. get deleted and you just receive the ones that you’ll like - I’m very good at choosing the best ones and throwing away those that shouldn’t see the light of day!

Typically, I’ll deliver between 75-125 photographs for the session which tells a lovely story of your moments together with a variety of types of image - candid photography of children and adults playing, running, having fun with Grandpa or Grandma, aunty and uncle - whomever is special to you, and some nicely-posed family portraits. Don’t forget to include your dog!

You receive these photographs via a password-protected and private gallery from which you download the photographs in high-resolution (perfect for printing) and web-ready JPEG format (perfect for your phone, emailing or sharing on social media). You can show the photographs anywhere you like and print off as many as your heart desires - they’re yours!

Can I buy prints from you, Christian?

Yes you can! Your digital gallery comes equipped with an online print shop.
