Woodland Waters, Lincolnshire Wedding Photographer: Claire & Josh

Wedding Photography at Woodland Waters Ancaster

I first met Claire at a local wedding fair in the Vale of Belvoir and we had a lovely conversation about Claire & Josh’s wedding which was to take place at a local village church, in Harby, Leicestershire and then onto the reception at the lovely Woodland Waters at Ancaster, near Grantham.

Stylish Documentary Wedding Photography in Lincolnshire

We talked about how, in the main, my photography would be documentary in style - capturing the memories of the day - laughter, smiles and emotions (and this wedding would have plenty of that, as you’ll see). We also talked about how that should the opportunity arise, such as a sunset, we’d create some photographs that would be striking and memorable (which did happen, as you’ll see from the photographs!).

I started the day in the nearby village of Harby in Leicestershire during busy bridal preparations, with bridesmaids and family excitedly preparing for what would be an exciting day. It was only a short walk to the church in the same village for the ceremony.

When Dad walks in to see his daughter in her dress it’s a wonderful moment and I love capturing that reaction, it’s just a wonderfully memorable moment and makes for a lovely photograph.

After the preparations were finished, the short trip up the hill to the church was made. Dad walked Claire up the aisle to give her away and Josh waited, cool and collected (but I wonder if his heart was racing underneath his nicely tailored jacket?)

Claire’s Mum gave a rousing reading which was very popular with all the guests before Claire & Josh walked down the aisle and outside as husband and wife for the first time! What a moment!

The newlyweds waited for their guests to join them outside and there was so many hugs, kisses and congratulations for me to capture. Great memories. We even had time to say hell to the precious doggies!

Wedding Reception at Woodland Waters

After the ceremony and the congratulatory celebrations we took the short trip to Woodland Waters.

Now, I knew about this but of course the guests didn’t… Two of the waiting on staff on the day were in fact surprise singing waiters and they were so good! They got the room rocking and the dial was definitely at 11 out of 10! Lots of people got behind the mic and Claire’s mum sung a song of her own (and she was very good too!). What a party atmosphere and we all loved it!

After the first dance, the sunset was in full ‘wow mode’ so we dashed outside to make the most of it for some bride and groom portraits. I always look for something special for my couples and I love it when the sun plays ball so that I can create these wonderfully striking and beautiful moments for them.

Claire & Josh… thank you for having me photograph your day and here’s to your future!
